Youth Leadership Lawrence Announces Class of 2023-2024

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – September 12, 2023 – The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Leadership Lawrence Class of 2023-2024 convened on September 6th to kick off this year’s class.

Youth Leadership Lawrence is an nine-month program for high school juniors and seniors in Lawrence County. This program is an opportunity for students to broaden perspectives and gain increased understanding of the community dynamics and public issues.

Throughout the nine months, students enhance their skills in leadership, professionalism, communication, and team building. In addition, participants learn about history, culture, business, manufacturing, and economic development while getting to know other students from other local high schools in the county. Participants build relationships and truly become a team with a common vision. Not only does it enhance cooperation among schools, but it also develops a greater sense of community pride.

The class met on Wednesday, September 6th at the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center for their “Getting to Know You” program day that was facilitated by Kate Archer, Executive Assistant of Kid’s Place – A Child Advocacy Center. Emma Thigpen, Program Manager of Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and Ben Barnett, Project Manager of Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, will serve as the directors of the program.
