The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual State of the County Luncheon on April 7 at the Loretto Civic Center, bringing together business leaders, elected officials, community partners, and residents for a look at Lawrence County’s progress and the opportunities ahead.
Presented by RE/MAX PROS, the event featured an economic update from Chamber President & CEO Ryan Egly, followed by County Executive David Morgan’s ‘State of the County’ address, and a leadership panel with Lawrenceburg Mayor Blake Lay and Loretto Mayor Steve McMasters.
Egly’s update focused on Lawrence County’s continued momentum, including steady population growth, rising household income, a growing visitor economy, and continued strength in manufacturing. He also pointed to several 2025 highlights, including new and expanding business activity, ongoing workforce development efforts, increased attention to housing and infrastructure, and the county’s continued work to prepare sites for future investment.
“Lawrence County continues to move in the right direction,” Egly said. “The data tells a clear story: more people are choosing to live here, incomes are rising, our economy is expanding, and our workforce remains one of our greatest strengths. But momentum alone is not enough. Our next chapter depends on how well we plan, invest, and work together to turn today’s growth into long-term opportunity.”
The leadership panel gave local officials an opportunity to discuss recent accomplishments, current projects, and priorities for the year ahead. Throughout the conversation, collaboration remained a consistent theme, with leaders emphasizing the importance of working together on infrastructure and quality of life.
The Chamber extends its appreciation to RE/MAX PROS for presenting this year’s luncheon, Modine Manufacturing for making the State of the County publication possible, and all speakers, sponsors, elected officials, and attendees who helped make the event a success.
