LAWRENCEBURG, TENN.— The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has launched applications for the 2020 Coronavirus Support Microgrant Program. These competitive microgrants will pay up to $1,000 to cover one (1) eligible expense incurred in March or April 2020. Eligible expenses include a small business’s rent or mortgage, one-time costs incurred as a direct result of the pandemic, or their utility bill (including internet). The program is funded by the Lawrence County Economic Development Foundation through a $50,000 appropriation.
“Our small businesses are suffering,” explained Ryan Egly, Chamber President. “Some have been forced to shut their doors by executive order, while others are experiencing the economic impact of social distancing. They’re concerned about how to pay rent or keep the lights on. We created this program to alleviate at least one of those concerns.”
Applications are available online at LawCoTN.com or can be requested by emailing Grants@LawCoTN.com. Applications are being accepted until April 24, 2020.
